Description
This morning (6-13-15) I checked on the (six) eggs in the House Finch nest that I discovered a couple of weeks ago and they have hatched - unfortunately our temps have risen to 110 and higher and the poor things may not survive...I cannot move the nest as the mother may abandon the ones that are still alive...not all are going to make it...so sad...

Amazing image, dear lady. Sad story though... Your beautiful and identified bird image has been featured by Wild Birds Of The World, a nature photography group. L/F
Joyce Dickens replied:
It was a sad story indeed as a couple of days later when I check the nest, it was empty! Thanks so much for the feature my sweet friend!!! :-))

Forgot to ask you... Did some of the babies make it???
Joyce Dickens replied:
Iam sad to say that not one of them survived Berta, something raided the nest just a couple of days after I shot this image....so sad!

Oh MY!!! Joyce I love these little babies!!! I can't ever get this close when my doves are here. Will have to try and see if I can get some good shots of my baby doves this year. Awesome shot!

Wonderful shot Joyce. f/l
Joyce Dickens replied:
Thanks for all of your awesome comments and support of my work Seth - I checked on this nest this morning and it was completely emppty, as if these poor little babes never even existed! I am sure a hawk probably got them as there are a lot of them in this area....breaks my heart :-)

Oh, Joyce! What a sad and beautiful image. I hope some make it through the heat. Please stay cool, yourself!
Joyce Dickens replied:
Thank you Cecily, have not checked them for a day or two...will later today :-)
