Description
I traveled to Anderson, CA recently on personal family business while the CARR FIRE was going on and it is still burning today. The Shasta County Fair Grounds was the staging area for the firefighters from all over the US that had come to northern CA to help fight this devastating wild-fire, the worst so far in CA history. I was so moved by the heart-felt signs of gratitude to the fire-fighters, dozer operators, first responders, Cal-Trans Workers, and everyone associated with the efforts to stop this worst wild fire in CA history, that I had to stop and shoot some of the signs that had been posted on both sides of the road, opposite the staging area.
The fire is now threatening the pristine areas of Trinity and Lewiston off of Hwy 299 West. Many of the Redding and Anderson evacuations have been lifted and people are returning home, if they still have one. If you felt the need to pray, the time is now!
Per The Record Searchlight, Redding, CA:
More charred structures are expected to be added to the 1,546 firefighters have already tallied. Of the structures currently counted, 1,058 are homes and 13 are businesses.
Per KRCR, Channel 7 News: today August 11, 2018
The Carr Fire is 55 percent contained at 186,416 acres as of Saturday morning.
According to the latest incident update from Incident Command: "Firefighters worked through the night to build and improve containment lines. Burning operations were performed in more active portions of the fire, while mop-up and patrol efforts continued throughout the less active areas. Clear conditions overnight increased the possibility of spot fires. Fire growth is primarily fueled by dry vegetation and steep terrain. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the fire area through 11:00 P.M. Saturday for hot, dry conditions and gusty winds."

It was exactly that William; too bad that it takes such devastation to bring the communities together.
